Demon Trapper’s Daughter is Here!

It’s here! The Demon Trapper’s Daughter is out as of February 1st!

For those of you who read and reviewed it ahead of time, thanks so much for spreading the word. For those of you yet to join Riley on her adventures, I hope you enjoy the ride.

This series came to fruition because I wanted to write something different for young adults, something more akin to urban fantasy with a spunky heroine, scary monsters and some cool good guys. I also wanted a tale that adults would enjoy and the Demon Trappers Series was the result.

The second book in the series SOUL THIEF (US title) will be out the end of August so you won’t have to wait too long for answers to some of those questions I left hanging at the end of the first book. For my UK readers, DEMON TRAPPERS: FORBIDDEN will be out in September as will the German edition (title unknown).

I want to thank those readers who’ve  followed me over these years and to those I’ve yet to meet. You folks make my job wonderful in ways I cannot express. Bless you all!

Oh wow the sequel is coming out so soon? I like this quick succession of releases that I am now noticing happening in publishing. Happy Book Birthday! I can’t wait to go out and get this book 🙂

They are moving the series right along which means this author’s little fingers are typing like crazy (LOL). And thanks for the good wishes. Book Birthdays are always so much fun.

HI there! Okay I saw PC’s post about the book release and followed my way through Amazon and here. I must say the series intrigues me. I plucked the prequel off on my kindle (thanks for that by the way). So, I have something to tie me over til payday when I will go pick it up. I agree with Sandy the quick succession is a great thing. But, it means I will definitely have to pick up a new bookshelf soon.

    Hi Beth!
Oh good, you found the prequel. That’s the best way to find out if my writing style and story intrigue you. I finally went with an e-reader to cut down on bookshelf space, though I adore paper books. Some I still read that way. Others (the keepers) are on the Nook now. It’s a plan. Not necessarily a great one, but so far it’s working.

Woohoooooooo! I can’t believe it’s out already. Many congrats. I know what I’m going to be buying at the bookstore this weekend.

Oh, and a second book in August? Too cool. 😀

Hey, Marcia!!! It’s out and I’m still grinning like a crazy person. Figured I’d enjoy my day and then it’s back to the mines tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by, Jana! I really enjoyed Riley and her world. Demon Trapper’s is one of the best YA novels I’ve read in a long time. I can’t believe we get the next book in August! That makes me so happy!

    Keep up the great work!

I’m trying. Currently working on a big battle scene in Oakland Cemetery. I’m thinking it’s time to watch LOTR again — especially the final battle. Need some pointers. Demons = ugl(ier) Orcs? Who knows?

    Hello Jana,

I managed to get a copy of your “Retro Demonlogy” from Kobo’s library and i am very impressed with the book. I am trying to get a copy of your newest book “The demon trapper’s daughter” but i am in Singapore…Do you have it as an e-book?? I would love to get my hands on some of your previous works too. =) but none of the bookstores in Singapore actually sell them. Help….

Hi Lydia- I’m CJ, Jana Oliver’s assistant. Try looking for the UK edition of the book called “The Demon Trappers: Forsaken.” Pan Macmillan Asia distributes the book in your area of the world and the book is listed in their catalog. You might also give Book Depository http://tinyurl.com/4t9doeb a try as they ship to Singapore free! Hope you are able to get a copy!

@Lydia – If you prefer an e-book: DEMON TRAPPER’S DAUGHTER is available on the Kindle, the Nook and at Borders.com for the Kobo. FORSAKEN (the UK edition is not — yet). I’m not sure if you can download DTD in Singapore, however. Those pesky geographical restrictions are hard to work around.

My Time Rovers Series is published by a small Canadian press and those books are not in bricks and mortar stores. They are available through Amazon and other online book sellers, however.

Leave it to you, Jana, to write a great story with a strong and SMART female protagonist. THANK YOU! No offence to Ms. Meyer or Ms. Clare, but there’s only so much hormonally-driven stupidity that one can take. You always write a fantastic and compelling story, and now Riley tops your my of “Women with a brain and a backbone.”

Great job! Waiting impatiently for the next in the trilogy!

Oh my gosh, Jana I loved the demon trapper’s daughter so much. It was awesome! I can’t wait for soul thief! What is the title of the prequel?

@Margaret and Natasha. There is a short story called Retro Demonology available for the Nook and Kindle free in the US. If you don’t have an e-reader, you can get Kindle application that will work on a smart-phone, a PC or Mac.

Retro Demonology is a short piece, only about 10 pages or so, that talks about Riley’s first solo trapping adventure. Hope this helps.

@ Natasha – Sorry, I didn’t see your comment before now! Luckily CJ did. There is only a slight difference between Demon Trapper’s Daughter and Forbidden – mostly stylistic things like adding back in the missing “u’s” in humor and such. For the most part, they are exactly the same book.
