DEMON TRAPPERS BOOK #1 COVER REVEAL! As I mentioned in an earlier post, the rights to my first four Demon Trappers books were returned to me last February from St. Martin’s Griffin (New York). After months of work it's time to share the covers and sample chapters as these books move closer to (re)publication on Monday, November 15th. Some disclaimers: The first two St. Martin’s books had different titles than the U.K. editions. I’ve rectified that and so here’s the cover for FORSAKEN (formerly titled THE DEMON TRAPPER'S DAUGHTER.) Also, these books will be published (in English), for sale in the U.S. and Canada as well as a number of international countries. Macmillan Childrens Books (London) continues to hold English rights in certain countries at this point and I can't infringe on that license. Should that situation change I'll let you know. The last few months have been spent tidying up the text, correcting typos and other errors, typesetting both the print and e-books, writing new back cover copy and having the talented Clarissa Yeo (www.YoclaDesigns.com) design new covers. I specifically wanted there to be cover continuity throughout the series and Clarissa is a master when it comes to evocative images. Choosing the right model for a cover is hard because no matter how I see my characters, my readers have a different view. In the U.S. books Riley's eyes are brown, in the U.K. editions they were blue. For this cover, Riley’s face is partially covered because that’s where her head is at this point. She’s not the Kickass young lady we see in later books, the one who has survived total Hell. This is the young and untested Riley Blackthorne before everything went bad. And there's new back cover copy as well: Riley Blackthorne has one goal in life—to be a demon trapper just like her legendary father. With Atlanta overrun with Lucifer’s Hellspawn, this shouldn’t be difficult. But not everyone wants this city’s first female trapper to succeed. The guys in the local Guild are giving her a ton of grief, and even her dad’s trapping buddy, Denver Beck, thinks she’s picked the wrong profession. Riley just needs is a chance to prove herself. Which is exactly what Hell is counting on. I’ll be posting the first two chapters beginning tomorrow and you can pre-order the books if you’d like using the links here. There are a few changes, but nothing major so if you already own these, you’re golden. The print books will be available for order on/before November 15th. As various online vendors clear the books for publication, more links will become live. It's a process, folks, and sometimes that process take a lot of time because the sites' bots just don't get it. Sigh. Also, the price of the e-books will be much lower so if you have friends who like contemporary Urban Fantasy, please recommend the series. And as always, posting reviews on the major retail sites certainly helps other readers decide if the series is something they’d enjoy. I am so jazzed right now! I sincerely hope you enjoy the new covers as much as I do. Comments are closed.
