10th Demon Trappers Anniversary

November already? Holy cats, people! In some ways this year has flown and in others it has dragged along like a sleepy snail. So let's look at what's up for Demon Trappers in the New Year. *Photo is the interior of Six Feet Under Pub & Fish House near Oakland Cemetery*

 
2021 is the 10th and 20th anniversary of two of my series. My DragonFire series (fantasy) was first published in 2001 and it was my first big effort at writing anything. It was a challenging and difficult project because I was an absolute newbie.

In my mind, writing is a lot like ice skating. The first few zillion times you're on the ice you're literally ON THE ICE because you can't skate well. Lots of practice eventually means you spend more time upright than sitting on a cold surface, wondering what went wrong.

Since that first series I've learned new techniques (Point-of-View for one) and how to better craft a story. During those first few books I made quantum leaps in my writing ability. Now it's more little tiny nudges because the going is a lot harder once you've got the basics and have a few million words behind you. Now I'm try outwrite myself rather than others.

The Demon Trappers' first two books were published in 2011 so next year is the 10th anniversary. In addition to celebrating that milestone, the new book (LOST SOULS) will be published and I will also be serializing a short story (FROM HELL WITH LOVE) which takes place the week before LOST SOULS begins. Also, there is a very special virtual event that will occur during the 10th anniversary as well.  That's all I'm going to say about that at the moment.

The serialization of FROM HELL WITH LOVE will begin right after the New Year. It's a Riley story and I think you'll like it. It was published as part of JordanCon's charity anthology in 2019, and available only in print form. You guys will be able to read it right here.
